Pediatric Pandemic Network – Region 2

In May 2025 the Pediatric Pandemic Network (PPN) designated Northwell Cohen Children’s Medical Center (Queens, NY) as an affiliate Hub Site to serve Region 2 consisting of New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.The hub is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Matt Harris and Hub Site Manager John Jermyn. The mission of the PPN is to leverage the resources and expertise of children’s hospitals in collaboration with national partners to empower all healthcare systems and their communities to be prepared to provide high-quality pediatric care in everyday emergencies, disasters, and global health threats.

Northwell Cohen Children’s Medical Center is dedicated to providing the very best care to meet the special needs of children, from premature babies to adolescents. The 195-bed hospital opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today the hospital is the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York state, serving 2.8 million children in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester.
